Joshua’s experience includes many aspects of patent law, including patent preparation and prosecution; litigation support; and patentability, validity, and infringement opinions. He has particular expertise in the areas of computer hardware and software, including object-oriented programming, virtual machines, artificial intelligence, computer networks and network security, and image processing and display devices, as well as semiconductor design and fabrication. While at MH2 Law, Joshua has focused on preparing and prosecuting software patent applications for our open source software clients and telecommunications clients as well as web-based patent applications.

Prior to joining MH2 Law, Joshua was a patent agent with the law firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP of Washington DC and an associate with the law firm of Oliff & Berridge, PLC of Alexandria, VA. Joshua is also a former patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications on artificial intelligence.

Prior to his legal career, Joshua worked as a software engineer for a start-up company, The Motley Fool. As a software engineer, Joshua worked extensively in the fields of object-oriented software development, multi-tiered system design, and data processing and analysis.
