Tram’s practice covers all aspects of patent law, including patent preparation and prosecution, patentability, validity and infringement opinions, competitive patent landscape development and analysis, patent portfolio management, due diligence, and general patent counseling. In addition, Tram is experienced in IP negotiations and agreements, including license, royalty, inventorship, consultant, research and collaboration, and acquisition agreements. Tram has particular expertise in medical device and life science technologies, and has significant experience counseling and building patent portfolios for start-up or early stage medical device companies.

Prior to joining MH2 Technology Law Group, Tram was a co-founder and partner at Monument IP Law Group. Tram previously served as Director of IP and Legal Affairs for Paradigm Spine, LLC in New York City, NY and Vice President of IP at Musculoskeletal Clinical Regulatory Advisers (MCRA) in Washington, D.C. She is also a former associate and technical specialist with the law firms of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP and Nutter, McClennen & Fish, LLP, both in Boston, MA.

Before her legal career, Tram worked for four years as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the Medical Devices art unit, where she examined patent applications related to prosthetics and implants such as cardiac and vascular assist devices, stents, grafts, cardiac pumps, orthopedic and spinal implants, mammary and orthopedic prostheses, and related methods and surgical tools.

Tram earned her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, her M.S. in Biotechnology from The Johns Hopkins University, and her B.S. in Biology with Minor in Chemistry from George Mason University.
