Garrett Atkinson is a registered patent attorney with a mechanical engineering and computer science background. Mr. Atkinson has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, both foreign and domestic, in the mechanical and electrical arts. Mr. Atkinson’s patent prosecution experience includes all stages of the patent application process, from drafting original applications through appeals, reissues, and reexaminations. His specific subject matter experience includes oilfield drilling, completion, and production equipment, turbomachines, magnetic bearings, refinery processes, waste heat recovery systems, heat pumps, refrigeration systems, and medical devices. Mr. Atkinson also has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting design patent applications, including many related to consumer medical devices and industrial machinery. Mr. Atkinson has also filed and prosecuted many trademark applications and has represented clients in trademark oppositions.
Prior to joining MH2, Mr. Atkinson was an attorney with the law firm of Haynes and Boone, LLP and later with Edmonds Nolte, PC, both in Houston, Texas.
Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Atkinson worked for Cordis Neurovascular, a Johnson & Johnson company, where he assisted in the production of neurovascular stents.
