Molly Chen has over a decade of experience practicing patent law, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications; preparing opinions on patentability, infringement, enforceability, and inventorship; and briefing and arguing appeals of adverse examiner decisions before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Her practice is primarily focused in the biotechnological, pharmaceutical, and chemical arts. She has particular expertise in the areas of pharmaceuticals, small molecule drugs, monoclonal antibodies and related binding proteins, nucleic acid and protein molecules, diagnostic and therapeutic methods, microbiology, cell culture methods, transgenic plants, drug screening, water treatment, polymers, catalysts, steel, adhesives, and consumer care products.
Before joining MH2 Technology Law Group, LLP, Ms. Chen practiced patent law for more than eleven years at the law firm of Oliff PLC. Ms. Chen received her J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she served as Executive Managing Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law and participated in a business venture competition in collaboration with Vanderbilt’s Law School, School of Medicine, and Graduate School of Management.
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Chen received her M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Syracuse University for her work in developing a polymeric drug delivery system for the treatment of spinal cord injury. While completing her graduate thesis work, she interned at the Syracuse University Office of Technology Transfer, completed a year-long clinic at the university’s Technology Commercialization Resource Center, and participated in several business venture competitions.
