USPTO Delays DOCX Surcharge Until January 1, 2023
The United States Patent and Trademark Office final rule published in the Federal Register on August 3, 2020, included a fee for patent applications not filed in DOCX format. An exclusion applied for design, plant, and provisional applications. The effective date of the of this fee has been delayed until January 1, 2023. Additional information can be found here.
